FIFA 19 DOWN: EA Server maintenance, PS4 and Xbox Ultimate Team update news

FIFA 19 is set to be offline for lengthy maintenance today, January 15, affecting popular modes like FIFA Ultimate Team.

The news was confirmed earlier this week, with EA Sports revealing their plans to take servers offline.

It appears that today’s downtime is to perform backend improvements and will not result in any kind of new content.

The only thing that has been confirmed about today’s downtime is that FIFA 19 will be offline for several hours.

This will mean some of FIFA 19’s most popular modes will not be fully accessible until multiplayer servers are turned back on all platforms.

The modes available for online play in FUT are FUT Champions, Division Rivals, and FUT Online Draft.

And as with the various single player match modes, you will be rewarded at the end of every match, but the quantity and quality of your reward are determined by the type of match and the result.

Scheduled maintenance will begin at 7am and will last for at least three hours on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The bad news is that while maintenance will begin at 7am, servers will go offline before then.

There will be around thirty minutes before the engineers get to work when FIFA 19 match creation is disabled.

This means that players will be effectively unable to access multiplayer functions from 6:30am, until 10am, GMT.

If there are indeed notable change made to FIFA 19, you can expect news from EA Sports following the end of downtime.

However, the development team has not mentioned sharing patch notes, so none are expected to be revealed.

Here’s the latest from the EA Sports support team, which reads: “All FIFA servers on console and PC will be down for maintenance starting Jan 15 at 7 am UK.

“Duration: 3 hrs. Match creation will be disabled from 6:30 am UK.”

If there are any kind of issues during maintenance, there is a chance that downtime will be extended.

However, until otherwise noted by EA Sports, fans can expect FIFA 19 to be back online in the UK before the afternoon.
