Alvaro Morata update

Atletico Madrid are considering a move for Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata on two conditions, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

“At Madrid might find a way to finance the cost of Morata if both player and Chelsea reduce their expectations,” Balague wrote on Twitter.

“Loan deal, including wages and payment to London club, cost €9m [£8m], Atletico would pay less. Chelsea would like a replacement and even an obligation to buy in the summer.

“Simeone has clearly shown his interest in the player and Atletico are trying to please him.”

Ancelotti Koulibaly warning

Manchester United have been told to forget about signing Kalidou Koulibaly by Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The defender is Manchester United’s top target as they look to bolster their defence.

But Ancelotti said: “In England, they write that Koulibaly can leave because of the problem of racism.

“He never showed it, he wants to stay in Naples and in Italy, a country he likes very much.”

Liverpool identify defender

Liverpool are considering a shock move to re-sign Conor Coady.

The Daily Mail report that the Reds are keen on the defender who made one appearance for the first team after graduating through the academy.

He has impressed for Wolves this season and is now supposedly on Jurgen Klopp’s radar.

Liverpool are in something of a defensive crisis due and have been forced to move Fabinho back into central defence.

Chelsea deal close

Chelsea have made a move for Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes.

The Evening Standard report that Chelsea have made their first offer and are hopeful of completing a deal.

Chelsea have turned their attention to the 24-year-old as Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella, 21, is reportedly not keen on moving to England.

And they might now look to offer Parades a bumper deal to convince him to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Denis Suarez to Arsenal a ‘goer’

Denis Suarez to Arsenal is a ‘goer’ according to Sky Sports transfer expert Dharmesh Sheth.

“As it stands, we’re talking about Arsenal only wanting loans,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast. “They want to bring Barcelona’s Denis Suarez in on a loan move.

“They know each other very well, Emery and Suarez, he played under Emery in the 2014/15 season when he was on loan at Sevilla.

“Barcelona would, we think, be happy to do a deal, but provided it came with an obligation to buy Denis Suarez in the summer.

“We’re told that Suarez wants to do the move and he’s not getting much game time at Barcelona. He’s just made his seventh appearance of the season [in all competitions].

“That’s where it stands with that one, he wants to come as far as we’re concerned.

“They’re also linked, Arsenal, unsurprisingly with a guy called Eva Banega. Again, Sevilla.

“Emery described him as a very good player when he was asked about him and they know each other as well from their time in Spain. Banega, Suarez or maybe both? I think Suarez looks like a goer.”
