The 48-year-old ITV favourite showed her support for her pals other show, Tipping Point, after he put out a call for contestants. Ben Shephard revealed how to apply for the game show, telling his 697,000 Twitter followers: “Right to all you who love to watch #tippingpoint and shout at the TV (looking at the #tippingpoint thread there is a lot of you) who now come and have a go for real! You can come and shout in person — and hugs are free!”
Susanna Reid promptly retweeted the post in view of her own 563,000 followers, at which point, the pair a response from someone they hadn’t banked on wanting to take part in the quiz show.
“OK, I’m going to give it a go,” Pointless host Richard Osman, 48, replied cheekily.
“The risk of unintended consequences @benshepard,” Susanna quipped.
Meanwhile, Ben seemed up for the idea of 6’5” brainbox Richard competing on Tipping Point, tweeting: “I can see the hug being momentous!”
Fans were delighted at the thought of a crossover between Pointless and Tipping Point, with one commenting: “Brilliant. You should just have a go at all of the quiz shows after your Catchphrase win.”
“Yes! Do it, do it I tell you, do it!” another enthused, while a third added: “Do it! Then take on The Chase!”
Earlier this week, Richard took part in a Catchphrase charity special.
The Pointless star ended up scooping £56,800 for his chosen charity, Child’s i Foundation, who support children and families in Uganda.
Tipping Point, which has been hosted by Ben since it first aired in 2012, is currently looking for contestants to take part in the 10th series.
“We are searching for fun, confident, outgoing people who want the chance to win thousands of pounds using a combination of skill, judgement and chance,” the advert, shared by the presenter, read.
Elsewhere, GMD star Susanna Reid showed off her weight loss in tight-fitting jeans on her way home from filming the live show this morning.
Having lost two stone since ditching booze in September, she flaunted her slender curves in figure-hugging blue skinny jeans and wrapped up warm in a padded jacket with a faux fur-lined hood.
Susanna added oversized sunglasses and black heeled ankle boots to complete the look.
She wore her brunette tresses in sleek waves which fell loose around her shoulder as she left ITV studios today.
The mother-of-three was pictured beaming as she spotted photographers.
Susanna slimmed down after being advised by doctors that her BMI was too high.
