Silent Witness continues tonight with Nikki Alexander and the rest of the cast investigating a new murder. The Silent Witness cast will be investigating that murder from 9pm on BBC One tonight, while last week’s episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer now. Samantha Womac will be joining the cast for tonight’s episode.
Who is in the cast of Silent Witness 2019?
Silent Witness is lead by four main team members of the Lyell Centre who will appear in all 10 episodes of the procedural. They are:
Dr Nikki Alexander – Emilia Fox
Forensic pathologist Nikki Alexander has been a feature of Silent Witness since 2004.
The character is played by Emilia Fox, who made her TV debut in the beloved BBC version of Pride of Prejudice from 1995 and has also appeared in The Wrong Mans, Merlin and Delicious.
Jack Hodgson – David Caves
Jack Hodgson, the team’s lone wolf forensic scientist, has been in Silent Witness for the last six years.
David Caves, who plays Jack, has also appeared in films like Jackie and Ironclad: Battle For Blood.
WHERE IS SILENT WITNESS FILMED?
Clarissa Mullery – Liz Carr
Clarissa Mullery is the forensic lab scientist for the centre who, like Jack, has been in the BBC series since 2013.
The scientist is brought to life by Liz Carr, who this year also appeared in the BBC’s adaptation of Les Miserables.
Dr Thomas Chamberlain – Richard Lintern
The most recent of the regular cast to join Silent Witness (in 2014), Dr Thomas Chamberlin is head of the Lyell Centre.
Dr Thomas is played by Richard Lintern, whose previous credits include The Shadow Line, Heartbeat and The House of Eliott.

They are joined by another set as recurring characters which include:
Max Thorndyke – Daniel Weyman
Max Thorndyke is Clarissa’s husband and an expert in digital forensics.
Daniel Weyman plays the character and has previously appeared in Foyle’s War, the Oscar WIlde biopic The Happy Prince and the upcoming Gentleman Jack starring Suranne Jones.
Noah Taylor – Colin Salmon
James Bond films actor Colin Salmon will be playing the role of Noah Taylor in one episode this season, 13 years after he first appeared in the series as a different character.
As well as appearing in the Pierce Brosnan Bond films, Salmon has acted in Krypton, Limitless and No Offence.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES OF SILENT WITNESS?
DI Kate Ashton – Samantha Womack
Samantha Womack plays a police officer named Kate Ashton in two episodes of the series, in her first TV role since leaving EastEnders.
Aside from playing Ronnie Mitchell for a decade on the soap, she has also appeared in the Kingsmen films, Mount Pleasant and Pie in the Sky.
