Nintendo Direct January DATE: Will Nintendo announce Direct this week?

Nintendo Direct – presenting the latest news about the company’s content – is expected imminently. Nintendo usually holds a presentation every January between the 11th and 17th, appearing to corroborating online leaks. Let Express.co.uk set out we can expect to see in store for January’s Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that lets users play online multiplayer, in addition to regularly receiving free NES games.

And in good news for gamers Nintendo Switch Online will reportedly receive a raft of new free games in the coming months.

An many of the purported titles should be a significant improvement on the current selection of free games.

In news unveiled by Kapu, a total of 22 SNES games are being prepared for release.

This games include perennial favourites like Super Mario World and Zelda: A Link to the Past.

While other games are former collectors items Star Fox 2 and Pop’n Twinbee.

Nintendo recently tweeted its intention to release Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link and Blaster Master on January 16.

“Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Blaster Master are coming to Nintendo Switch Online – Nintendo Entertainment System on 16/01!” the announcement said about the eagerly-anticipated sequel to the iconic original.

And gamers can expect more just than the roll-out of former classics.

Many top titles have long been rumoured to be released, including Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing Switch, and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Expect concrete release dates and specific detail about these games in Nintendo Direct January.

And a new Pokemon RPG is among a new of new titles believed to be in production.

January Nintendo Directs also feature announcements for new Nintendo hardware.

Industry insiders have have long believed Nintendo is planning an upgraded Switch release.

The hand-held console is expected to boast a larger screen and likely other new features to attract gamers – and this could be confirmed at Nintendo Direct January.

There will also likely be some new updates for Super Smash Bros Ultimate – arguably the biggest game of the year

A Direct broadcast could officially announce the Piranha Plant release date, Joker DLC Pack release date, and even information on new Smash Bros Ultimate DLC.

We may even see some new patches for Smash Bros Ultimate. Expect to hear something about the game in the next Nintendo Direct.
