Final Fantasy 7 Remake for April reveal, Kingdom Hearts 3 gets HUGE update

Final Fantasy 7 fans may not have to wait very long for new information about the upcoming remake.

With the focus currently on Kingdom Hearts 3 (and more on that shortly), Square Enix has barely said a word about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake since its reveal.

But according to a recent anonymous post on 4Chan, fans will be treated to a wealth of Final Fantasy 7 Remake news in April.

Picked up by respected Final Fantasy channels like The Night Sky Prince and shared on Reddit, the post claims that Square Enix will hold a two-hour event in April.

While it’s worth taking with a shaker worth of salt, the event is said to be similar in scale to the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered stream from 2016.

Each major character will reportedly be showcased with their own trailer, while the Materia and combat system will also be explored in great detail.

The post even claims that the release date for the first episode will be revealed for late 2020.

Whether the event takes place or not, fans can expect to find out more about the project once Kingdom Hearts 3 is released.

And speaking of Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix has announced plans to release a huge update at launch.

It’s hard to believe after waiting for so long, but Kingdom Hearts 3 has a January 29 release date on PS4 and Xbox One.

The long-awaited game will launch with a day one update that adds a selection of story explainers for the series so far.

Handy for a series that isn’t easy to follow, these Memory Archive videos will be available to view from the title screen.

This will be followed by a second patch on January 30, which adds an epilogue video for anybody who has completed the game.

Square Enix will add yet another video on January 31, the contents of which are currently under wraps.

The secret video will only be available to players who complete the game and fulfill certain criteria.
