The Voice UK 2019: ‘Chills’ viewers praise contestant after show FIRST

The Voice UK 2019 continued this evening and saw newcomer Grace take the stage by storm.

Grace, a 17-year-old performer from Coventry, jumped on stage to sing her original song.

And it was an absolute show-stopper, as Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Jennifer Hudson, and will.i.am were all blown away.

Grace impressed the judges even further when she revealed she had written the song herself.

And in particular, Sir Tom was utterly convinced by her incredible talent.

Tom took her into his team and became excited to proceed on the journey with Grace in the coming weeks.

After Grace left the stage she spoke to host Emma Willis who revealed something a little shocking.

She said: “That’s the first time ever someone has turned around to an original song.

“Isn’t that amazing?!”

And viewers quickly rallied behind Grace as they began writing support for her on Twitter.

One wrote: “Fantastic decision to turn for Grace. Such a distinct voice and even better an original song. Such a talent. #TheVoiceUK.”

Another said: “#thevoiceuk well done Grace you’re very brave singing your own song but you did it.”

A third added: “Grace’s original song is giving us chills. CHILLS. #TheVoiceUK”

Sir Tom got lucked with this performer as earlier on in the show he failed to win someone over.

After contestant Connie took the stage, Sir Tom and Olly were enthralled in a fight for her talents.

Olly won the fight, but Sir Tom had the last laugh.

He went on to mock Olly’s Essex accent by repeating: “I like it a lot.”

Confused, Olly asked: “That was an Essex accent?!”

While Jennifer chimed in to demand: “Tom, stop!”

The Voice UK 2019 continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
