Ivanka Trump ‘STORMS OUT’ of controversial Dick Cheney movie ‘Vice’ with husband Jared

The couple attended a screening at a West Palm Beach theatre around Christmas. They had been staying at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort over the festive period. Both Ivanka and her husband work as senior aides to President Trump.

An eyewitness told PEOPLE the couple left the showing early, accompanied by their Secret Service escort.

The witness said their exit was abrupt, though it’s unclear what prompted it.

The film stars British actor Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, who served as US vice-president between 2001 and 2009 under President George W. Bush.

During his time in office, Mr Cheney played a pivotal role in both the “war on terror” which followed the 9/11 terror attacks on New York and Washington DC, and the 2003 US led invasion of Iraq.

Whilst accepting a Golden Globes award for his performance Mr Bale provocatively thanked “Satan for giving me inspiration” for the role.

Mr Cheney’s daughter, who represents Wyoming in the House of Representatives as a Republican, fired back on Twitter.

Linking to an article about an alleged altercation between Mr Bale and his mother and sister in 2008 she commented: “Satan probably inspired him to do this, too.”

Mr Bale was not charged over the incident which took place before the 2008 London premier of Batman movie The Dark Knight due to “insufficient evidence”.

Both Ivanka and her husband, as well as other members of the President’s family, spent much of the Christmas period at Mar-a-Lago, nicknamed the ‘winter White House’.

President Trump had been due to spend Christmas Day at Mar-a-Lago, but remained in Washington DC to deal with the ongoing government shutdown.

He was joined by First Lady Melania on Christmas Eve, though she returned to Mar-a-Lago before the new year with the couple’s son, Barron, and her parents.

The partial US government shutdown began at midnight on December 22 after Trump refused to sign a finance bill unless it provided funds for a wall along the US-Mexico border, which Democrats in Congress rejected.

As a result 800,000 US government employees have been left without pay.

On January 12 the shutdown entered its 22nd day, making it the longest in US history.

According to CNN Mr Krushner, senior advisor to President Trump, was in Washington DC this week and participated in negotiations with key Congressional figures.
