Pokemon Go January 2019 Community Day countdown: Totodile date, time, Shiny news, special

Pokemon Go fans are counting down to the start of the January 2019 Community Day event.

The first Community Day event of 2019 takes place between 10am and 1pm UK time on January 12.

As previously announced, Totodile is the star of the show, which is good news if you’re yet to evolve a Croconaw or Feraligatr.

And if you do manage to evolve a Croconaw into a Feraligatr during the event, your Pokemon will learn an exclusive special move.

“Get ready, Trainers! Feraligatr evolved during January Community Day will know the powerful Water-type attack Hydro Cannon, a Pokemon GO Community Day exclusive!” Niantic tweeted.

And as long-term Pokemon Go fans will know, special moves aren’t the only bonuses available during Community Day.

Lures will last for the duration of the event, so it’s worth saving any spare you might have.

It’s also good news if you’ve got lots of eggs and spare incubators.

A special Pokemon Go Community Day bonus means that egg hatching distances are only a quarter of what they would normally be.

Needless to say, fans will also be able to capture a shiny Totodile during Community Day.

The news comes as Niantic announces a brand new limited research event starring Feebas.

“While the Water-type Pokemon Feebas may not look like much, there’s plenty to learn about the Fish Pokemon!” reads a Niantic post.

“Spin the Photo Disc at nearby PokeStops to obtain Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Feebas. And, if you’re lucky, you just might find a Shiny Feebas!

The event – which takes place on January 19 – gives fans a chance to encounter a Shiny Feebas.
