Tom Kerridge appears on Fresh Start tonight, in which the chef helps Britons to have healther habits. The chef has undergone a huge transformation of his own, thanks to a certain weight loss diet. The British TV star’s weight loss has inspired many. Tom, who is known for his hearty recipes, shrunk by 12 stone, a whopping 168 lbs.
Tonight the popular food expert will appear on BBC Two’s Fresh Start.
He is helping eight families to adopt healthier lifestyles with his six-step plan.
How did Tom Kerridge lose weight?
The TV chef revealed that he cut out most sugars from his diet, including alcohol, carbs, and refined sugar.
Tom weighed almost 30 stone, before he dropped all the weight in just three years.
He told GQ: “As a chef, I was grazing and snacking throughout service. Or I’d be eating cheese on toast and packets of crisps because they were quick and there and ready to go.
“And I was a big one to skip breakfast. I didn’t have any.”
However, the chef does still treat himself occasionally.
He said: “There is nothing wrong with a flapjack in the afternoon when you get that 4pm lull if everything else is in place.
“Look at Anthony Joshua. He shows himself in the gym and then eating a burger in a fast food joint, but the point is he’s showing balance – the burger is a treat and he’s done an epic workout and kids are getting that now. They understand it.”
Tom currently weights just under 18 stone.
Previously Tom has hosted Tom Kerridge’s Lose Weight For Good, in which he shared his healthy recipes.
These include a healthy baked falafel, veg and halloumi with couscous and pulled pork tacos.
The second episode of the series in on tonight at 8pm.
Tonight the chef will help eight families to save money on their meals.
They will learn how to be more organised with cooking and how to plan meals effectively.
He will reveal his recipes for salt cod and saffron fishcakes, butternut squash and chickpea curry, and Italian turkey meatballs.
