Resident Evil 2 Remake demo COUNTDOWN: Release date, time and tips for 1-Shot trial

Resident Evil 2 Remake’s special ‘1-shot’ demo is about to be released by Capcom.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has a January 11 release date, and will be available until January 31.

There’s no official release time, but the demo has already gone live in Australia.

This means Resident Evil 2 Remake demo should be available around midday in the UK.

The demo weighs in at around 7.9GB on PS4, although there’s no word on whether it will be available to pre-load.

Express Online has contacted Capcom for more information about the 1-shot demo.

It was recently revealed that the Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has an interesting gimmick attached.

The aptly named ‘1-Shot Demo’ gives players just 30 minutes to complete a mission in Raccoon City. Once the time is up, there’s no chance to return and play again.

Capcom explains more: “If players complete the mission objective under 30 minutes, they can restart the mission until they use up their full time. If players succumb to the zombies during their 30 minutes, they can continue any number of times until the full 30 minutes have been reached.

The reward is a brand new cinematic trailer that can be viewed even when the demo time is up.

In the run up to the launch of the demo, Capcom has released a selection of tips and tricks to get you through.

Players are encouraged to scavenge items to survive, paying close attention to red rooms that still have items within.

Fans should also think about when to battle zombies. Capcom recommends shooting different body parts (like legs) if you want to slow zombies down and preserve ammo.

You should also check your inventory often, with time stopping when you’re in the menu screens.
