Blood Moon PROPHECY: This is what the Book of Revelation says about the Supermoon eclipse

The January Full Moon will pass through the Earth’s shadow on the morning of January 21, an event known as a total lunar eclipse. During the eclipse, scattered sunlight in the Earth’s dusty atmosphere will fall on the Moon, bathing it in a deep red colour. Astronomers dub this phenomenon a Blood Moon eclipse, when the Sun, Earth and Moon are perfectly aligned. There are, however, some voices in the Christian conspiracy circles, which claim the Blood Moon is a biblical portent of doom.

Surprisingly, there are at least three passages in the Christian Bible, which could be a direct or prophetic reference to the January eclipse.

A particular passage in the Book of Revelation is the most well-known mention of the Moon turning blood-red in the final days of mankind.

The Book of Revelation, or The Apocalypse of John, is the final prophetic book of the Bible and describes the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the end of the world.

Revelation 6:12-14 reads: “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

There are a total of seven seals in the Book of Revelation, which are believed to be scrolls containing secret information known only by God himself.

There are two more references to the Moon becoming as blood in the prophetic Book of Joel and Book of Acts.

The Book of Joel is prophetic scripture penned by one of the so-called Twelve Minor Prophets.

The Biblical text describes a series of brief prophecies, ending with God’s judgment on Israel’s enemies.

Joel 2:10-11 reads: “The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

“And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”

The Book of Acts in the New Testament, also known as the Acts of the Apostles, is the fifth book of the Christian Bible.

Acts recounts the founding of the Christian church and outlines prophetic visions of the Second Coming of Christ.

Acts 2:19-22 reads: “And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

“Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:”
