Resident Evil 2 NEWS: Demo release date and how to get Safe House live experience tickets

Resident Evil 2 Remake developer Capcom has revealed more about the imminent gameplay demo.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has a January 11 release date, and will be available until January 31.

Available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam, the Resident Evil 2 Remake demo has an interesting gimmick attached.

The aptly named ‘1-Shot Demo’ gives players just 30 minutes to complete a mission in Raccoon City. Once the time is up, there’s no chance to return and play again.

Capcom explains more: “If players complete the mission objective under 30 minutes, they can restart the mission until they use up their full time. If players succumb to the zombies during their 30 minutes, they can continue any number of times until the full 30 minutes have been reached.

The reward is a brand new cinematic trailer that can be viewed even when the demo time is up.

If the Resident Evil 2 Remake demo isn’t enough for you, Capcom has also announced plans to set a special interactive Safe Zone ahead of launch.

“To celebrate the hotly-anticipated game release of Resident Evil 2 on January 25 2019, Capcom has today announced the opening of an immersive bar based on the series’ infamous Raccoon City Police Department (RPD),” a Capcom post reads.

“Following a storyline inspired by the iconic game, the Resident Evil 2: Safe House, opens for two days from the 25th to the 26th of January 2019.

“Guests will be encouraged to take shelter in the last safe area of Raccoon City and get their hands on the real-blood antidote to save them from the devastating T-virus sweeping the city, alongside settling their nerves with other classic Midwest American cocktails, beers, wines and rations.”

Fans wishing to visit the Resident Evil 2 bar and participate in the Safe Zone experience can do so by visiting the website and applying for tickets.

Tickets are free, but will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be walk-in spaces available on each day.

According to the terms and conditions, tickets can be booked in pairs or as a complete group of four.

If you do manage to get tickets, you’ll need to book a time slot between 12pm and 11pm.

Visitors are also entitled to one free drink as part of the experience, including a bloody cocktail that appears to be served in a test tube.
