Pokemon Go tips and tricks for beginners: How to best start YOUR Pokemon adventure

puts payers in the shoes of a real-life Pokemon trainer in augmented reality (AR) setting, where creature appear in the real world. For the first time in the history of the incredibly popular Nintendo franchise, players can get a good taste of what catching and raiding Pokemon feels like. Two years down the road since Pokemon Go launched and a whole raft of gameplay updates and new Pokemon releases, might seem daunting to new players. For those of you ready to start your very own Pokemon Go adventure, here is a handy guide on how to best get started.

Pokemon Go tips and trick for beginners

1. Catch duplicate Pokemon – a lot of them

Pokemon Go’s creature catching mechanic encourages trainers to catch the same Pokemon over and over again for XP and Pokemon Candy.

Unlike the Nintendo console games, creatures in Pokemon Go do not gain XP and level up through battling, but rather through eating Pokemon Candy.

Every time you catch a certain monster, like a Pidgey for example, you receive three Pidgey Candy.

You will then need to collect a certain amount of Candy to level up and evolve your Pokemon.

You can speed this process up by transferring duplicates to Professor Willow – this will yield one Candy per transfer.

2. Visit Pokestops as often as you can

Pokestops are a nifty and helpful way to gain items like Pokeballs, Berries and other goodies.

Pokestops are typically local landmarks, pubs, shopping centres and pieces of urban artwork which you can spin for items.

You can spin a Pokestop every 10 minutes, meaning you can hang outside one to collect some free item drops.

If you place a lure on a Pokestop, you will experience 30 minutes of increased Pokemon spawns around that stop for a chance to rake up some XP points.

3. Get Pikachu as your Pokemon Go starter

Right off the bat, Pokemon Go makes you choose from one of the classic three Pokemon starters – Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

But, you can choose to ignore the three starters and pick the hidden fourth option Pikachu.

In order to choose the iconic yellow mouse Pokemon, simply walk away from the three starters until Pikachu pops up on the screen.

Once you catch it, the other three starters will vanish and you will have to look for them in the wild.

4. Don’t Power Up your Pokemon just yet

It might be tempting in the early stages of the game to Power Up your lower CP Pokemon for Gym battles.

However, the trick is to hold on and simply keep on levelling up your avatar.

The higher your level, the stronger Pokemon will spawn in your world map, meaning you don’t have to waste Pokemon Candy and Stardust on Power Ups.

If you plan to take on any Pokemon Gyms further down your journey, this is your best bet to collect a strong team of Pokemon for battling.
