A new Overwatch update is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC and adds a new challenge for players to complete.
For those who weren’t aware of today’s event launch, the Bastet Challenge revolves around Ana’s story.
From now until January 21, players will be able to undertake a special trial to earn five sprays, a player icon, a victory pose, and an epic Bastet Ana skin.
A total of eight new rewards are available and can be unlocked through wins in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or Arcade.
Winning in these modes will all earn a limited-time player icon, victory pose, and a new epic skin.
It should be noted that these Ana’s Bastet Challenge rewards are a bonus on top of normal earnings for playing in the Arcade.
Overwatch fans can also tune in to participating Twitch broadcasters while they’re playing Overwatch anytime through January 21 to earn five Ana’s Bastet Challenge sprays.
“While fulfilling the protector’s legacy in-game, you can watch Twitch streamers between matches to unlock even more Bastet-themed cosmetics,” a message from Blizzard reads.
“Tune in to participating broadcasters while they’re playing Overwatch anytime through January 21 to earn five Ana’s Bastet Challenge sprays!
“To be eligible to receive these Twitch Drops you must first link your Blizzard account to your Twitch account. Visit the Twitch Connections page to log in and complete the link now.”
Bastet is a new short story by Michael Chu, taking place after the events of the “Old Soldiers” comic.
This new comic can be found on the official Overwatch site and is free for anyone to read as part of the new challenge.
Today’s update also includes other changes, including new Overwatch League skins for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

OVERWATCH LEAGUE SKINS
Team uniforms come to life as in-game skins! Skin are now ready to equip in-game for the eight new Overwatch League 2019 teams: Atlanta Reign, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, and Washington Justice. Represent your favorite team (or teams) in-game with skins for every hero.
GAME BROWSER AND CUSTOM GAME UPDATES
Spectating
- Status effect icons now display on the afflicted heroes’ portraits
- An option to toggle an over-the-shoulder spectator camera is now available. This feature can be found under Options > Gameplay > Use Simple 3P Spectator Camera
- An option to mute voice lines while spectating is now available. This feature can be found under Options > Gameplay > Enable Voice Lines While Spectating
Developer Comments: These quality of life changes mirror some of the functionality available to professional broadcasters. By bringing these features in-game, we aim to provide players with a seamless spectator experience between streamed professional play and in-game matches with their peers.
