Nintendo Switch games UPDATE: Switch fans set for HUGE announcement this week

owners have a great 2019 in store.

The Nintendo Switch has been selling like hot cakes ever since it was released almost two years ago.

Switch owners have an enviable library of exclusive games to choose from, including titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Pokemon Let’s Go.

And 2019 is set to be another big year for the Nintendo Switch with Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and the gen 8 Pokemon game all inbound.

As Nintendo Switch gamers gear up for what 2019 has in store the House of Mario may be about to make a big announcement this week.

Rumours are circulating that Nintendo are readying the first Nintendo Direct of the new year.

Nintendo typically holds a Direct presentation in January so it wouldn’t be surprising to see one dropping soon.

The January 2019 Nintendo Direct is expected to take place on Thursday January 10, according to the rumour mill.

This is around the same time as the January Nintendo Direct that took place in 2018.

During that Nintendo Direct – which was a Nintendo Direct Mini – Mario Tennis Aces and Dark Souls Remastered were announced.

Nintendo has plenty of high profile in-house games that could get an update during the upcoming Nintendo Direct for January 2019.

Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing Switch and a new Fire Emblem are all due out this year.

So Nintendo will surely want to build anticipation for those titles ahead of launch.

While no in-game footage or pictures of Metroid Prime 4 has been showcased since it was announced back in 2017.

Pokemon fans will surely be holding out hope that details on Pokemon Gen 8 will also emerge soon.

But it seems more likely that the Pokemon Company will hold a separate event for this game later this year, much like they did with Pokemon Let’s Go.

Animal Crossing

Bayonetta 3 is another eagerly anticipated exclusive game that Nintendo Switch fans are due an update on.

While there are rumours also of a new Mario Maker title and Super Mario Odyssey DLC which Switch fans will surely be keeping their fingers crossed about.

Other rumoured games that allegedly will be coming to the Nintendo Switch are a brand new Ridge Racer and Star Fox Grand Prix.

It’s also been highly tipped that a version of Persona 5 – arguably the best JRPG of this generation – is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Whether any of these rumoured titles are in the works, or get announced for the Switch during the upcoming Direct, remains to be seen.

However one YouTuber, Blocked Content, in a video online outlined what could be coming in the January 2019 Direct according to one leaker.

The leaker claimed that some big announcements will be revealed during the January 2019 Nintendo Direct.

These alleged announcements include the return of Nintendo Land, a Switch remake of Game Boy classic Link’s Awakening and footage of Persona 5’s Joker in Smash.

It’s also claimed that the upcoming Yoshi game for the Switch, Yoshi’s Crafted World, will be getting its own Labo kit.

As with any rumour, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt and not get your hopes up until official confirmation.

But, not withstanding the unconfirmed rumoured games, there are plenty of great titles that will definitely be coming to the Switch in 2019.

And hopefully more will be revealed on these games in the coming days in the rumoured Nintendo Direct for January 2019.
