iPhone Xs successor could take a major feature from the Huawei P20 Pro

iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max are the most premium flagships offered by Apple and were announced at a hardware event by the firm in September.

Although the hardware retains a very familiar look and feel aesthetically, the device has been completely revamped internally.

That is because the device is powered by Apple’s new A12 Bionic chipset that offers blisteringly fast performance across iOS 12.

The iPhone Xs is the smaller of the two devices, offering the Apple faithful a 5.8-inch AMOLED display with the resolution of 1125×2436 and a density of 458-pixels-per-inch.

Meanwhile, the iPhone Xs Max comes with a gargantuan 6.5-inch display that offers a resolution of 1242×2688 and the same density as the standard iPhone Xs.

The only other difference between the two is where battery size is concerned; the standard iPhone Xs has a 2,658mAh pack while the iPhone Xs Max comes with a 3,174mAh unit.

The flagship duo both have 4GB of RAM and are comprised of a front and back glass panel that sandwich together a stainless steel frame.

Although the iPhone Xs and Xs Max only released back in September, the first claimed images of the device’s successor have emerged online.

Courtesy of a collaboration between Digit and OnLeaks, two renders have been posted online that show an alleged forthcoming iPhone with three cameras on its rear.

The Huawei P20 Pro debuted last year and was the first device to flaunt three units on its back panel and it appears Apple could follow such a design decision.

The handset in question was shown displaying a noticeably larger camera module than is present on the current iPhone Xs.

Moreover, the camera bump for the device appeared in a square format, similar to what is currently offered on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

However, unlike the Mate 20 Pro, the lenses nor flash were positioned symmetrically.

Instead, two camera modules are shown in one stack and another alongside a flash are shown in another.

The renders also suggest the camera bump will protrude from the new iPhone significantly, meaning the device may wobble if it is placed on a flat surface.

OnLeaks claimed the next batch of iPhone are still in their engineering validation tests, meaning the final design of the products are subject to change.

Digit added the phone in question is “most probably” the highest specification iPhone that will be offered later this year.

It also claimed the Cupertino-based firm will once again show off three new iPhone varieties later this year.

It was insisted Apple may be planning to adopt a time-of-flight sensor for the next iPhone.

Such technology is currently available on the OPPO RX17 Pro that debuted back in November.

A time-of-flight sensor can be used to enhance augmented reality features and can help with measuring the sizes of objects.

Apart from the drastic change in camera technology, the supposed 2019 iPhone looked very familiar to what is currently offered by the American tech giant.

Moreover, renowned tipster Ice Universe has insisted the next iPhone models will keep Apple’s signature notch at the top, suggesting this year’s iPhones will tout a familiar design overall.

It is worth noting that while the new renders will surely be incredibly tantalising for fans, Apple has not commented on the accuracy of the images or its next iPhone models.
