Xperia XZ4 leak shows a very unique design for this Sony flagship

Sony Xperia XZ4 is the presumed name given to the Xperia XZ3’s successor.

Sony typically debuts two flagship smartphones every year; the Xperia XZ4 is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The tech show will take place next month, running from February 25 to February 28.

Ahead of its expected launch, the Xperia XZ4 has been the subject of a number of leaks that appear to have showcased its design.

Alleged images of the hardware have suggested the handset could feature three cameras on its rear.

Such a specification may represent a tantalising upgrade over the Xperia XZ3 that arrived with a single snapper on its back.

Under the hood of the Xperia XZ4 is expected to be Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 chipset that could be joined by 6GB of RAM.

Such a duo would surely deliver exceptional performance across Android 9 Pie.

Speculation has also pointed towards the Xperia XZ4 coming with a 3,900mAh battery that would almost certainly deliver all-day life for owners.

The device has also been claimed to come with severely reduced bezels around its claimed 21:9 aspect ratio display.

The aspect ratio means the Xperia XZ4 is likely to be taller than many other flagships on the market.

And now it appears Sony fans have got their best look at how the hardware may stack up against its rivals.

Notable leaker Ice Universe recently posted an image of an alleged screen protector for the Xperia XZ4 sitting next to the iPhone Xs Max to display its size.

The claimed Xperia XZ4 film appeared taller than the iPhone Xs Max, but thinner overall.

The tipster insisted the length of the XZ4’s screen is a similar size to the Apple device.

He said: “I received the tempered film of the Sony Xperia XZ4. This phone is too long.

“After measuring, the length of the XZ4 screen is 15.2cm, which is similar to the length of the iPhone Xs Max.”

As previous leaks have suggested, the Xperia XZ4 display was shown without a notch and minimal bezels on its top and bottom.

Such an aesthetic appears similar to that currently offered by the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
