Samsung TV news – Why your 4K television could look hugely outdated from TODAY

The first technology event of the year gets underway today with under the bright lights of Las Vegas.

This huge event is where many of the world’s biggest technology companies launch their latest and greatest TVs and Samsung will be one of first to reveal its plans for 2019.

The Korean firm has already begun showcasing its next-generation 8K TVs which began arriving in stores late last year.

8K could be the future of watching content in your living room with Samsung boasting its newest TVs include real 8K Resolution capable of up to 4,000 nit peak brightness – a standard met by most film studios.

This feature allows its latest televisions to produce four times more pixels than a 4K UHD TV and 16 times more pixels than a full HD TV.

Expect plenty more news on these pixel-packed sets at CES but there will also be some other TVs on show which offer a much more aesthetically pleasing design.

lifestyle TVs are nothing new with the firm unveiling its first selection of ‘Frame’ televisions last year.

Now it seems there will be a bigger selection of these designer TVs with Samsung confirming it will unveil more at CES this week.

The Korean firm says its latest ‘Frame’ TVs will even feature an Art Mode which displays digital pieces of artwork, including paintings and pictures.

With customisable bezels, a No Gap Wall Mount that helps it sit flush against your wall, and a brightness sensor adjusts colours on-screen to fit the ambient brightness of the room, The Frame is able to look convincingly like a piece of art on your wall.

Samsung is also confident that this year’s model of The Frame will feature the improved picture quality of QLED which allows for deeper contrasts, deeper and darker blacks and 100% colour volume.

“The traditional TV was only focused on technical features, such as picture quality and performance, but now TVs are also a lifestyle platform that blends in consumers’ daily life,” said Jongsuk Choo, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“This year’s models of The Frame and SERIF TV are enhanced lifestyle TVs that deliver a TV experience like nothing before.”

Along with the new Frame TV, Samsung is also set to reveal its new Serif TV in Las Vegas next month.

The Serif TV was developed an aesthetic-focused TV in collaboration with Paris-based design brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, two of the world’s most famous industrial designers that specialise in furniture.

Samsung’s big reveal takes place in Las Vegas on Monday at 2pm local time (10pm GMT)

Express.co.uk will be heading to Las Vegas and will be bringing you all the news live as it happens.
