Michael Douglas dedicates Golden Globe to dad Kirk but star's win leaves fans OUTRAGED

Michael Douglas, 74, beat off competition from the likes of Jim Carrey, Donald Glover and Bill Hader, leaving some Golden Globes fans unimpressed. One user commented: “HOW DARE MICHAEL DOUGLAS TAKE WHAT WAS RIGHTFULLY BILL HADER’S.” A second wrote: “Donald Glover should win. Despite this, other fans shared videos of the actor praising his 102-year-old father Kirk in his acceptance speech.

Michael began his speech by thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, telling the audience: “For 45 years, you’ve always surprised me and treated me so well.”

He went on to praise the show’s creator Chuck Lorre, adding: “The truth be told, I owe all of this to one man out there — Mr. Chuck Lorre.

“Chuck thinks getting old is funny. Thank you for your exquisite work.”

Michael then praised his wife Catherine Zeta Jones, telling the crowd he loved her “very much”, before dedicating his award to his father.

Michael opted for a smart black suit while Catherine stunned in an emerald green dress which showcased her sensational physique.

The actress completed her look with open-toe gold heels and silver earrings.

The brunette posed confidently for the paparazzi giving a seductive pose to the cameras.

Michael has previously won Golden Globes for Wall Street and Behind The Candelabra.

Back in 2004, he was also the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.
