Meghan Markle must ‘get to know Granny’ to avoid ‘disaster’, royal insider issues warning

Meghan Markle became a member of the Royal Family in May after a relatively short romance with Prince Harry. The couple were set up on a blind date by a friend, and soon the relationship became serious. Meghan’s fame skyrocketed international. The little-known actress became world-famous over night. She soon moved to London to be with her beau, leaving behind an acting career she spent 10 years building.

However, the royal world of Buckingham Palace is a very different place to Hollywood.

Now the pregnant Duchess lives in Windsor with her husband, and rumours of a rift between Meghan and the Duchess of Cambridge are rife.

Channel 5’s Kate v Meghan: Princesses at War, which aired on Sunday night, took a close look such rumours.

Princess Diana’s former butler said of Meghan: “She needs to stay close to Harry and get to know his Granny.”

He added: “Meghan has known nothing like this.

“Unlike Princess Diana who was reared in a house as big as Buckingham Palace on the Althrop estate, she was even lost.

“When Diana joined Buckingham Palace there were pitfalls, people weren’t very kind to this young girl coming into this world.

“Buckingham Palace is a minefield for anyone coming into that family.”

Another royal insider, Lady Colin Campbell, also issued some advice to the new Duchess.

Lady Colin Campbell has written biographies on Princess Diana and recently Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.

She said: “Meghan will succeed brilliantly as long as she has the modesty and good sense to understand she’s a part of this show.

“If she goes in thinking she can change the system, it’ll be a disaster.”

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have seen their relationship face much scrutiny since the former-Suits actress married Harry.

But an expert has claimed that soon Meghan will have to curtsey to the Duchess of Cambridge.

Robert Jobson, 54, said: “The Fab Four will be two and two. There is no future for the Fab Four.

Prince William’s future at the King of Britain will change the dynamic between the couples.

Robert said: “When William is King he will be in charge of the Royal Family and eventually Meghan and Harry – that changes the dynamic somewhat.”
