Meghan Markle and Prince William were among the royals who spent Christmas with the Queen at Christmas. All eyes were on the so-called “Fab Four”, Harry and William and their wives, on the big day. It had been reported that Meghan and Kate Middleton were involved in a feud. But on Christmas Day some claimed there was tension between Prince William and Meghan Markle instead.
They claimed William appeared to ignore Meghan and rearrange his scarf instead.
Writing on Instagram, one royal follower said: “It’s sad William ignored Meghans chatter as it looked she said something to him!”
Another added: “Look William being super obsessed with his scarf.”
However, a body language expert has claimed there might be other reasons for William’s behaviour, besides a rumoured “feud”.
Body language expert Judi James said: “This sense of distancing could be caused by tensions but it could also primarily be prompted by William’s aversion to royal ‘soap operas’.
“After the tragic dramas of his parent’s marriage William has always appeared keen to avoid any public emotional displays that might draw too much ongoing attention from the press and it could easily be this, rather than Meghan herself, That he’s keen to avoid.”
What is more, Meghan may not even have turned to William in the first place.
Judi said: “The ‘moment’ between William and Meghan did depend on their proximity and her eye gaze.
“On the surface it looked as though she turned around to smile at William while he kept himself busy tucking his scarf into his coat and her face did appear to have dropped as she turned back.
“But she could have been smiling at Kate rather than William, meaning he might genuinely have been out of the conversational loop at that particular point.”
It was revealed today that Meghan Markle spent £400k on her wardrobe in 2018 – almost six times what Kate did.
Meghan wore £406,662.55 worth of new clothing in 2018, while Kate Middleton wore £68,334.23 of new garments.
Kate spent only 16.8 per cent of what Meghan did this year.
