Fortnite season 8 UPDATE: First teaser REVEALED? Shock Battle Royale new map hint

is drawing nearer, and as the Battle Pass release date approaches Epic Games may have given fans a surprise teaser.

Fortnite season 8 looks like it will have a release date next month after the current season 7 Battle Pass was extended by two weeks.

Epic Games previously revealed that Fortnite season 7 would be two weeks longer than usual due to staff having a break over Christmas.

So currently the final day of Fortnite season 7 is set to be February 28 – which is when season 8 of could have its release date.

And as Fortnite season 8 draws nearer and nearer Epic Games may have started planting seeds for the launch of the new Battle Pass.

Eagle-eyed Fortnite players could have spotted the first Fortnite season 8 teaser which has been hidden away by Epic Games.

Redditors on the Fortnite Battle Royale Reddit noticed a mysterious message can be spotted on the equaliser glider.

On the exterior of the glider a yellow warning label can be found which says something interesting.

The message says: “Warning! Nuclear missile launched!”

Some Fortnite fans simply thought this was a reference to the rocket launch of Fortnite season 4.

But others have pointed towards the rocket the Visitor launched not being armed with a nuclear warhead.

It’s led to speculation that the start of Fortnite season 8 could begin with a nuclear destruction.

And fans have theorised that this could mean that an entirely new map will be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale in season 8.

Epic Games has said that a brand new Battle Royale map is in the works, with details about this on the Fortnite FAQ page.

Responding to the question ‘will you add more maps’, in the post the devs said: “Yes, but not right away.

“Currently, we’ll continue making improvements to our existing map, including adding more points of interest.”

We’ve already seen an otherworldly dimension appear during the Fortnite Butterly event in Fortnite season 6.

Could this dimension be a gateway to a brand new map that will open up at the start of Fortnite season 8?

Or will this rumoured nuclear missile simply destroy the current playing field, with Epic Games shifting the Battle Royale location somewhere else?

It remains to be seen, but all will be revealed in time as Epic is likely to start ramping up the build up for Fortnite season 8 in the coming weeks.
