Fortnite early patch notes content update 7.10: Suppressed sniper rifle, driftboard return

patch notes are set to drop for the third and final content update 7.10 release.

The latest Fortnite update is expected to become available to download on Tuesday January 8 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PCs and Macs.

Typically there is only one content update released in between major Fortnite patches but this time it changed due to Epic’s staff going on an Xmas break.

If you’re wondering what could be coming in the latest Fortnite content update then check out the early patch notes below.

Fortnite content update 7.10 #3 looks almost guaranteed to include the new suppressed sniper rifle weapon.

When Battle Royale players log in they’re being greeted with a message saying the new suppressed sniper rifle is ‘coming soon’.

These messages always appear just before a new item or weapon gets added to Fortnite in the next patch release.

So it looks almost certain that tomorrow Battle Royale fans will be able to get to grips with a brand new weapon.

The description for the new Fortnite weapon says: “Strike at your opponents quietly with this suppressed bolt-action Sniper!“

Fans have also been left hoping that Fortnite content update 7.10 #3 will see the return of the driftboard.

The driftboard was due to launch before Christmas in Fortnite Battle Royale before the release got delayed.

In a post on Reddit a rep for Epic Games said: “We know we set the expectation for the Driftboard to release in the coming update.

“Unfortunately, we’ve decided to hold the release of this new vehicle to make some final quality of life changes and other polish improvements.”

It remains to be seen whether Epic Games have had enough time to iron out the kinks and get the driftboard ready for release in time for the next update.

Another season 7 feature that could make a return to Fortnite is the Infinity Blade.

The game’s first mythic weapon was disabled after complaints from players that it was overpowered.

It remains to be seen if Epic Games has addressed the issues and managed to strike the right balance in time for a re-launch in the next content update.

Or, possibly the driftboard and Infinity Blade might make a big splash instead in the next major patch launch – Fortnite update 7.20.
