Transfer news LIVE updates: Man Utd offer, £50m Chelsea EXCLUSIVE, Liverpool, Arsenal

Rangers done deal

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard hailed the ‘exceptionally talented’ Jermain Defoe after it was confirmed he has joined the club on an 18-month loan deal.

“I’m delighted to be able to welcome Jermain to Rangers,” he said, with the striker joining on an 18-month loan deal.

“He is an exceptionally talented striker and vastly experienced footballer who has scored goals at every club he has played for.

“He will be a great addition to our dressing room and we look forward to integrating him into the squad whilst we work in Tenerife over the next week.”

Man Utd offer

Manchester United have spoken to Mino Raiola regarding a potential deal for Roma ace Kostas Manolas.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims United are happy to pay £32m for the centre-back – and they’ve already made an offer to the defender.

“#ManchesterUnited is really interested in Kostas #Manolas for the next season and talked with his agent #Raiola,” Schira said.

“#ManUtd is ready to pay the clause (€36M) and offered €6M at year for him.”

Chelsea want £50m striker

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wants the Blues to snap up Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani to solve their striker problems.

Sarri has been forced to chop and change between Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud and winger Eden Hazard up front this season.

But he wants a new forward brought in in order to ensure his team carry the goal threat they need to reach the top four.

Express Sport understands Chelsea are now eyeing a bid for Cavani, who could be available for a cool £50m.

Liverpool deal close

Liverpool are close to landing Trabzonspor wonderkid Abdulkadir Omur in a £27m move as they line up a replacement for Adam Lallana, Express Sport understands.

Jurgen Klopp is poised to beat off a challenge from Premier League champions Manchester City to sign Omur, who is rated as the best young player in Turkish football.

Klopp has been keeping tabs on Omur since he broke into Trabzonspor’s first team last season and is looking to get his man this month.

Trabzonspor, though, would like to keep him until the end of the season as they seek to challenge for the Super Lig title.
