Richard Madden: Golden Globes viewers spot BIZARRE distraction in Bodyguard star’s pics

Golden Globes nominee Richard Madden, 32, seemed in high spirits as he smiled for the paparazzi at the ceremony in California tonight. But, the actor seemed unaware that a lot of his pictures were being shared with a female in the background who is being dubbed the “fiji girl”. The female has been pictured carrying a tray of Fiji water at the event while posing in the background of snaps. In the background of a picture of Richard, she was seen smiling for the snap.

She stood out in a blue floor-length gown and pink lipstick.

The “Fiji girl” was also seen in the background of other celebrities’ pictures, including Jim Carrey.

Golden Globes viewers were quick to notice the background star, with one commenting: “FYI: I have already written 200 pages of the Fiji Water girl’s inner monologue tonight.”

A second wrote: “The Fiji girl in the blue dress is killing it give her all the awards#GoldenGlobes #GoldenGlobes2019.”

A third penned: “If Bradley Cooper doesn’t bring the Fiji girl out on stage to perform Shallow with him I’m turning this show off.”

A fourth commented: “My main aspiration in life right now is to be the Fiji water girl at the #GoldenGlobes.”

Elsewhere tonight, Richard won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series for his role in Bodyguard.

The actor praised his team in his acceptance speech, and referred to his co-star Keeley Hawes as the “best actress”.

The latter did not attend the award show tonight, but wished Richard luck on Twitter this evening ahead of his win.

She wrote: “Sending lots of love, kisses, and luck to the BRILLIANT @_richardmadden and the whole #Bodyguard team at the #GoldenGlobes tonight!

“@jed_mercurio @worldprods @goldenglobes.”

Bodyguard was also nominated for Best Television Series but was beaten to the gong by The Americans.

Elsewhere tonight, viewers have also seen wins from the likes of Patricia Arquette and Ben Whishaw.

The latter won the gong for the best supporting actor in a limited series or TV movie for his role as Norman Scott in A Very English Scandal.

Patricia scooped the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television for prison drama Escape at Dannemora.

The 76th Golden Globes was presented by Killing Eve star Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg.
