NBA trade news: Anthony Davis stunning admission, Kevin Durant shock Lakers claim and more

Anthony Davis stunning trade admission

Anthony Davis has been linked with being traded to the Boston Celtics, but Jayson Tatum is seemingly off the table in any negotiations.

However, Tatum’s dad has admitted to Celtics legend Cedric Maxwell that he WOULD trade his own son if it meant Boston acquiring Davis – and the 20-year-old agrees with him.

“Anthony Davis, how good he would make this team if you add another piece like that with a Kyrie and the young players you have, but how much talent would you have to lose if in fact you had Anthony Davis,” Maxwell said on the Celtics Beat podcast.

“Jason Tatum’s dad came up to me one day and I had been on Comcast and they asked me about Anthony Davis and asked in a trade for Anthony Davis, would Jayson Tatum be one of those guys involved int he trade and I said ‘all day long’.

“Jason Tatum’s dad came to me a couple days later and said, ‘I’ve got a bone to pick with you’.

“‘You said you’d trade my son for Anthony Davis’ and I said, ‘and?’

“He said, ‘I would probably trade him too if he weren’t my son’ so I think that you have to look at everything will be on the table.

“Even I talked to Tatum and told him that story about his dad and he said, ‘I’d trade me TOO for Anthony Davis’”

Kevin Durant shock Lakers claim

Kevin Durant will NOT re-sign with the Golden State Warriors this summer, instead aiming to link up with another superstar at a different franchise.

That’s according to Boston Celtics legend Kevin McHale, who doesn’t think things are all rosy with the defending NBA champions.

Golden State are currently third in the Western Conference and remain favourites to win a third consecutive NBA title.

However, Reports over Durant’s free agency decision reached fever pitch in November when he was involved in an ugly on-court altercation with Draymond Green.

Green reportedly called out Durant over his impending free agency, going as far as to dare the two-time NBA Finals MVP to leave the Warriors.

And according to McHale he will do just that, while also talking with other superstars to join him at another team.

“I watch him and there’s something dysfunctional with that team right now,” he said on NBA TV.

“So I would be shocked if he goes back there.

“KD is going to go wherever he wants to go but I really could see him going and hooking up with another championship-calibre guy.”

James Harden and Chris Paul trade demand

James Harden and Chris Paul are in constant discussion with the Houston Rockets as they seek to make a trade before the February 7 deadline.

That’s according to Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, who insists Houston are actively looking to strike a deal in the next few weeks.

“Our goal is to win now so for sure we’re always trying to trade off some of our future to try and win now,” Morey said on The Rich Eisen Show.

He added: “So there’s a constant dialogue with them about potential players who can maybe come in and help but it’s a partnership with our players and we would never bring someone in that we didn’t think was a great fit, our chemistry is too important for that.”
