Lakers boss Luke Walton SLAMS two stars after ANOTHER loss without LeBron James

The Lakers are now 1-5 without LeBron James this season with the NBA superstar currently out injured.

The Lakers were also missing Rajon Rondo (finger surgery) and Kyle Kuzma (lower back contusion).

Walton’s side got off to a terrible start, trailing 26-5 midway through the first quarter.

And the Lakers coach wants to see more from Ball and Ingram in the absence of LeBron.

“They’re trying but they’re young,” he explained.

“At some point, we need more passion. We need more fight. And that’s not scoring more. That’s more diving for loose balls, communicating loudly, grabbing (rebounds).

“Brandon had some really nice crack-back rebounds tonight that we can get out and run (from). We need that all the time from him.

“So, it’s not just them but until we get healthy again, you got to play in this league with some passion and fire. It’s hard to win in this league when you are healthy.

“So you need to double that effort when guys are down.”

Ball agreed with Walton’s assessment of the match.

“We weren’t physical enough,” the Lakers star said.

“That’s a big strong team over there. I don’t think we brought the fight today.”

It was just the second game this season Ball has failed to score points in.

“We’re down a lot of scorers right now,” he said.

“I’ve got to pick up that load. Obviously I didn’t’ do it tonight. I got to pick it up tomorrow.

The Lakers return to action against the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow at 1.30am UK time.
