Honor View 20 price, release date and everything else you need to know about this phone

Honor View 20 represents the firm’s most futuristic device yet thanks to its all-screen design with a hole punch-style cutout for its front-facing camera.

The hardware is set for global reveal on January 22 at a hardware event in Paris, however the firm has already lifted the lid on the hardware in China.

Honor View 20 comes with a 6.4-inch LCD display that offers 1080p resolution and a density of 398-pixels-per-inch.

The most noticeable element of the phone’s design is its circular cutout within the display itself for its 25-megapixel front-facing camera module.

Honor View 20 is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 chipset, the same processor housed inside the Mate 20 Pro.

This means the hardware should deliver speedy performance across Android 9 Pie.

The Kirin 980 is accompanied by either six or 8GB of RAM and a Mali-G76 MP10 GPU.

Honor’s device features a traditional fingerprint sensor on its rear, meaning such a scanner is not housed underneath the device’s display.

The phone’s rear is also home to a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor that should be capable of capturing detailed shots.

Sony’s lens is joined by a 3D time-of-flight unit that could be used for augmented reality and other handy features such as object scanning.

The View 20’s chassis is comprised of glass panels and an aluminium frame, just like many other flagship smartphones.

The most interesting aspect about the device’s design is its gradient finish that displays a “V” in different colours depending on the angle light is striking it.

Unlike many other Honor devices, the View 20 comes with a USB-C port at the bottom.

Moreover, the flagship also touts a 4,000mAh battery, meaning it should be capable of delivery all-day life to owners.

The hardware costs 2,999 Chinese Yuan which translates to roughly £346.69.

However, pricing for territories outside of China are yet to be confirmed by Honor.

Instead, it is expected the tech giant will reveal all details surrounding the device for other markets on January 22.
