According to BT Sport reporter Chris Ford, Villa will confirm to fans at half-time of their FA Cup clash with Swansea.

And it’s expected to be bad news as they are poised to confirm Abraham is leaving the club.

“There’s been a lot of talk in the build-up to this game about whether he has a future at Villa Park,” Ford said while speaking from the ground.

“I’ve spoken to a club official today who say they are expecting to make an announcement at half-time.

“They didn’t seem particularly positive about his future here.

“We are expecting he will be announced as a Wolves player on loan until the end of the season.”

The on-loan Chelsea striker has been a huge hit at Championship outfit Villa, smashing in 16 goals in 20 games for the Midlanders but is tempted by a switch to the Premier League.

Villa boss Dean Smith said on Friday: “It’s Tammy’s choice if he wants to stay or not. I don’t think Chelsea will push him.

“Whether they want to pull him away to go on loan to a Premier League club, we’re not in control of that.

“It will solely be the player’s decision. I’ve told Tammy I don’t think it would be a great decision for him. He’s in a win-win situation here. We will create chances for him, he’s taking them and scoring goals.

“I’ve told him to go with his gut feeling. If that is to stay at Villa and become a legend – as he could be the one who fires us back to the Premier League – I would be only too happy.

“He’s got 40,000 fans singing his name at the moment and that can only be a good feeling for a 21-year-old lad. But it’s his decision.”
