Liverpool confirm SECOND deal of the day – Fans demand new signing

Liverpool have been busy today clearing out their squad with both Clyne and Solanke leaving to join Eddie Howe’s side.

Clyne heads out on a six-month loan, but Solanke’s Anfield career is over having joined for a fee worth £19million.

But Clyne’s departure has raised some eyebrows from some Liverpool fans.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is first-choice right-back at Liverpool and has excelled alongside Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson this season.

He has only missed five Premier League games this campaign so far with a mixture of Gomez, James Milner and Clyne providing cover.

Gomez is currently out injured and Clyne has now left the club, meaning Jurgen Klopp will have to rely on Milner being back-up to Alexander-Arnold for the time being.

And that has left some Liverpool fans scratching their head at the club’s decision to loan out Clyne.

One fan tweeted: “EXPLANATION NEEDED.”

Another said: “New signing defy getting announced soon.”

A third posted: “But, who will cover TAA? Matt and Joe are out. It’s January. Why????”

And one other predicted: “We are definitely gonna buy someone we can’t go the whole season with no backup.”

However, Liverpool fans may be left disappointed this month with Klopp recently hinting any incomings will be unlikely.

“I’m very happy with what I’ve got, but you don’t know. That’s why I always keep the door open, in case something happens and we need to have a look,” Klopp told a news conference.

“If a few more things happen then we need to have a look because there are a monstrous number of games still and it’s really important that we can always react.

“If something will dramatically change then we need to have a look, that’s all. If nothing happens, then I would say we will not do anything.”
