Overkill’s The Walking Dead is Really Bad (Review)

Overkill’s The Walking Dead Review

Overkill’s The Walking Dead was looking like it was going to be an amazing game that captures the universe of The Walking Dead. But how did it fail to do that? Why is it so bad? This is the Forge Labs review of Overkill’s The Walking Dead

About Overkill’s The Walking Dead:

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player cooperative, action FPS based on the comic books, where you and your friends fight the undead as well as the living. Set in The Walking Dead Universe, you play as one of four characters in a tightly knit group who takes on a gruesome Washington D.C and every gritty threat that the city holds.OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is based on the Comic Book and not the TV-show ofThe Walking Dead.

In OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, we meet the four survivors Aidan, Maya, Grant, and Heather. In the post-apocalyptic world, this small group faces many tough challenges, surviving by using their skills, weapons and various tools along with their wits and all-important teamwork. The threats our survivors have to contend with include the ever-present walkers as well as various ruthless human factions that will stop at nothing to ensure they get what they want. Each of the four characters has their own backstory, their own sorrows, and their own secrets that will unfold as players progress through the game

You play as one of four characters (Aidan, Maya, Grant or Heather) and start off in your camp. This is the main hub that you need to protect against walkers and other human factions. The main goal for you and your camp is to survive. This is done by protecting the camp against enemies, but also leaving the camp to find other survivors, supplies or to sabotage hostile camps or settlements. Each character comes with their own class (Tank, Support, Technician and Scout), and throughout the game, you can upgrade your character and load out. To be able to survive you have to work together – because without teamwork you will die. Communication is key, and remember that noise attracts enemies, so keep quiet as long as you can. Different weapons make varying levels of noise, so choose wisely depending on your strategy. As you progress throughout the game, you will follow a story, but you are always able to re-play old missions whenever you like.
