Nintendo Direct: Will there be a January 2019 Nintendo Direct? When is the next Direct?

fans could soon be getting treated to a brand new Nintendo Direct in January 2019.

Nintendo typically holds a new Direct presentation at the start of the year in January.

In 2018 the House of Mario held a Nintendo Direct Mini in January where Mario Tennis Aces and Dark Souls Remastered was announced.

And it’s expected that another Nintendo Direct will be held in the coming weeks with rumours abound about what could be announced.

Rumours are circulating that a January 2019 Nintendo Direct will be shown on Thursday January 10.

This would be around the same time as last year’s Direct which was shown on Thursday January 11 2018.

In terms of what could be announced, there are a number of high profile in-house games that could get an update.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing Switch are due out in 2019 so Nintendo will surely want to build anticipation for those titles ahead of launch.

While no in-game footage or pictures of Metroid Prime 4 has been showcased since it was announced back in 2017.

Nintendo also have a Pokemon Gen 8 title due out on the Switch in 2019, but it’s possible a separate event will be held later on to reveal that.

Bayonetta 3 is another eagerly anticipated exclusive game that Nintendo Switch fans are due an update on.

While there are rumours also of a new Mario Maker title and Super Mario Odyssey DLC which Switch fans will surely be keeping their fingers crossed about.

Other rumoured games for the Switch include a new Ridge Racer and Star Fox Grand Prix.

It’s also rumoured that a version of Persona 5 – arguably the best JRPG of this generation – will be coming to Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Whether any of these rumoured titles are in the works, or get announced for the Switch during the upcoming Direct, remains to be seen.

However one YouTuber, Blocked Content, in a video online, outlined what could be coming in the January 2019 Direct according to one leaker.

The leaker claimed that some big announcements will be revealed during the January 2019 Nintendo Direct.

These alleged announcements include the return of Nintendo Land, a Switch remake of Game Boy classic Link’s Awakening and footage of Persona 5’s Joker in Smash.

It’s also claimed that the upcoming Yoshi game for the Switch, Yoshi’s Crafted World, will be getting its own Labo kit.

The leaker also claimed a Sonic collection of 3D games and a Rayman trilogy will be heading to the Switch.

As always, with rumours it’s best to take them with a pinch of salt until they get officially confirmed.

But either way there are plenty of great Nintendo Switch titles in the pipelines that fans have many reasons to get excited about.
