Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, took to Instagram to share a number of snaps of herself at the beach. The actress couldn’t have looked happier in one of the two shots shared with her 18.3 million followers. Wearing her short, blonde tresses down, the 32-year-old flashed a huge smile at the camera as she revealed her New Year’s resolution. She was joined by her boyfriend Charlie McDowell, 35, who she credited for taking the pictures of her on the gloomy beach.
Emilia was seen posing close to the sea edge in the dark picture, which saw her sporting a black coat with what appeared to be a fluffy hood.
She captioned it light-heartedly: “Just for the halibut. I’m resolving to try to laugh more in 2019 than 2018.”
The HBO favourite continued: “Join me if you feel like it. #youareyourownbestbetbaby.”
Her earlier photo was an action shot of her seemingly running into the sea solo, while her discarded shoes were left behind on the sand.
Emilia added: “Oh 2018 you went by in a flash and a blur.
“Dearest Instaworld, I truly hope your 2019 is full of contentment, laughter and recycling. #happynewyearhappynewplanet #ohhello2019.”
Emilia also included one very long hashtag and a reference to Charlie, who she confirmed she was dating last October.
Her caption read: “#instantlyregrettedtakingoffmybootsandgivingmyfeetpneumonia @charliemcdowell (well he is a director after all).”
Charlie also shared the same images with his own 9,446 Instagram followers, but added another of the back of her head.
He said simply: “Goodbye 2018. Thank you.”
Emilia was quickly inundated with more than two million likes as well as plenty of comments, with one user replying: “Very beautiful lady.”
Two others continued: “Count me in. Happy new year!” and: “I think I will do the same.”
Meanwhile, Emilia’s previous update came just fours days before Christmas and saw her posing with Paul Feig and Emma Thompson.
The trio looked to be having a great time as they sipped on a drink while dressed in eye-catching attire.
