Snapchat DOWN: Map issues spark server questions on New Year

Snapchat is down for some users tonight who are trying to access the app’s core features.

Problems started being flagged as Europe got closer to midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Reports are coming in of problems using Snap map, a useful tool for those heading into tonight’s celebrations.

The number of reports is at a stable amount right now, suggesting that this isn’t a worldwide outage.

However, with midnight set to arrive in the UK very soon, there’s a chance of further disruptions to the Snapchat services.

If problems persist, it’s likely that Snapchat will be required to offer an update on how long the issues could last.

Messenger apps have found themselves overwhelmed in past years due to high demands around New Year’s Eve.
