Transfer news LIVE updates: Liverpool signing close, Arsenal make Man Utd offer, Chelsea

Christian Pulisic to Liverpool ON

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Christian Pulisic after making a £45million offer, the Daily Mail claim.

The USA international is one of the hottest prospects in Europe with Arsenal and Chelsea also chasing his signature.

But the Gunners only offered £35m, way below Borussia Dortmund’s valuation.

And the Mail say Liverpool are on the brink of sealing a deal ahead of the January window.

Arsenal make offer to Man Utd’s Andreas Pereira

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is considering an offer from Arsenal.

The 22-year-old was not used frequently by Jose Mourinho but will wait to see how new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer utilises him before making any decision.

Pereira’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he would be available on the cheap next month.

Brazilian outlet UOL claim Arsenal, Everton and West Ham have all made offers for the midfielder.

The reports claim Pereira’s agent has received proposals from Arsenal, Everton and West Ham ahead of the January window.

Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea update

Chelsea could seal a deal for Gonzalo Higuain this January after the striker asked Juventus for permission to speak to the Blues.

Higuain is currently on loan from the Serie A champions at AC Milan.

Chelsea are desperate to sign a striker with Alvaro Morata struggling and Olivier Giroud not up to scratch.

Juventus are said to have given permission to Higuain to force a move to Chelsea.

Arsenal to make January signing – Keown

Arsenal hero Martin Keown believes his former side will make an addition next month after withdrawing a contract offer to Aaron Ramsey.

“I wasn’t comfortable with the fact that Arsenal withdrew their contract offer but now that decision has been made, the club clearly want to bring someone else in next month,” Keown told the Daily Mail.

“January seems to have been dismissed as a bad month to do business but do not forget that it was this time last year that Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk.

“He helped them to the Champions League final and has now transformed them into title contenders.

“For Unai Emery, there is no time to lose. He will want to get in players he wants to work with as quickly as possible.”
