Meghan Markle to Matthew Wright: Celebrities expecting babies in 2019

From a new baby royal to an A-list arrival, there will be many beautiful bundles of joys to welcome in the new year.

As 2019 nears, we take a look at which famous families will be expanding their broods and which celebrities will be parents for the first time.

Meghan Markle

The former Suits actress, who tied the knot to Prince Harry in May this year, is expecting a baby in the spring with the royal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s exciting news was announced in a statement released by Kensington Palace, which read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Matthew Wright

The presenter, who quit presenting The Wright Stuff earlier this year, is currently preparing for the birth of his first daughter with wife Amelia, 42.

In September, the 53-year-old star announced his spouse, who he wed in 2010, was pregnant with a baby girl.

He shared the news with his listeners on talkRadio where he explained they had undergone eight years of IVF treatment and described that period of their life as “difficult”.

Richard Gere

The 69-year-old A-Lister and his wife Alejandra Silva, who wed back in April, are expecting their first child together.

Alejenadra took to Instagram to confirm she was pregnant by sharing a picture of herself and the Pretty Woman actor with the Dalai Lama who placed a tender hand on her stomach.

She captioned it: ”A very special moment just a few minutes ago… Getting blessings for our precious to come. We couldn’t announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”

Greg Wallace

The MasterChef star and his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini are expecting their first child together, a baby boy, in May next year.

Greg Wallace, 54, who married Anne-Marie in 2016, three years after meeting on Twitter, said the doctor called it a “miracle” that his spouse was pregnant.

The chef told OK! Magazine: “We were due to start IVF but then it happened naturally after two years of trying.”

Jordan Pickford wife Megan Davison

The Everton and England goalkeeper’s fiancée Megan Davison is pregnant with their first child.

Megan, 22, revealed the exciting news on Instagram after sharing a sweet picture of her and the footballer at their baby shower.

The blonde beauty captioned the upload: “When two hearts become three. Just can’t wait for the next chapter with my fiancé. #BabyPickford.”

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer, 37, announced she is pregnant with her first child with husband Chris Fischer on a friend’s Instagram account.

The US comedian hasn’t been having a smooth pregnancy as she’s been battling hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme morning sickness).

Amy has been forced to cancel several gigs due to the illness, which the Duchess of Cambridge also suffered with when she was pregnant with Prince George.

Emilie Cunliffe

Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor in Coronation Street, announced she was going to be a grandmother last month, thanks to her eldest daughter Emilie Cunliffe, 21, who is expecting her first child.

Kym Marsh, 42, said she was “really” looking forward to the addition to the family and had already been looking up names for her first grandchild.

However, the soapstar told OK! Magazine she wasn’t keen on being called grandman and said: “I’m not sure about being called grandma. I’ve been searching alternative names.”
