Donald Trump’s FURIOUS reaction after Paul Manafort report shows links with ex Russian spy

The US President claimed special counsel Robert Mueller should be investigated for obstructing justice. He accused Mr Mueller’s team of deleting thousands of text-messages between two former FBI employees, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. The two ex-agents, who were apparently engaged in an affair, exchanged thousands of messages relating to Trump during their probe into Hillary Clinton’s improper use of email and the investigation into Russian meddling during 2016 presidential election.

Trump wrote on Twitter: “The Mueller Angry Democrats recently deleted approximately 19,000 text messages between FBI Agent Lisa Page and her lover, Agent Peter S.

“These Texts were asked for and invaluable to the truth of the Witch Hunt Hoax.

“This is a total Obstruction of Justice.

“All texts demanded!”

The Justice Department’s watchdog found this month that the FBI did not intentionally erase the text messages sent between the two former agents.

The watchdog claimed a technological glitch was responsible for the texts not being archived.

Despite such review, Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, argued that Mr Mueller “should be investigated for destruction of evidence for allowing those text messages from Strzok to be erased, messages that would show the state of mind and tactics of his lead anti-Trump FBI agent at the start of his probe.”

The American firebrand’s latest tweets against the special counsel were sent shortly after Time magazine published a new report on Paul Manafort, Trump’s 2016 campaign chairman.

According to the report, a former Russian spy pressured Mr Manafort into paying debts to a Russian oligarch.

Victor Boyarkin, the ex-Russian intelligence officer told Time Magazine he had connections to Manafort during the Presidential campaign.

He said: “He owed us a lot of money.

“And he was offering ways to pay it back.”

This month Mr Mueller released a filing that Mr Manafort lied to the FBI and special counsel investigators after he pled guilty to federal charges on September 14, in a breach of his plea agreement.
