PSN DOWN: PS4 server status latest as Sony confirm PlayStation Network issues

The PSN is down for many users tonight, with many new PS4 gamers facing server problems.

The official Sony PlayStation Network server status page confirms that there are issues affecting core online services.

This includes using gaming and social features, with some players unable to log in and access content.

“You may have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features,” a message from Sony reads.

“Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”

It’s unclear what is causing tonight’s problems but many gamers are confirming that they cannot access online games on the PS4 or PS3.

A lot of new console owners are likely accessing their new PlayStation 4 consoles today, however, it probably wouldn’t be enough to affect servers.

Sony has confirmed that PlayStation Vue and the PlayStation Store are both affected by tonight’s issues, along with PlayStation Music.

However, PlayStation Now services are reportedly unaffected, while most players can still log in and change account settings.

One user writes: “The PlayStation Network/Store said I did not have an active Membership even though I renewed it for another year 1 month ago.

“Upon relogging into my PS4 is said Servers were undergoing maintenance. I loaded Black Ops4 to see if I could play Online and all it says is you need Playstation Plus to access this feature. I have screen shots. PS4 is officially down.”
