Carol Vorderman 2018: Countdown bombshell opens up on 'relationship deal-breaker'

The two-time Rear of the Year winner, who turns 58 today, put her backing behind sprouts as she got into the festive spirit on the radio today. Voicing her support for the controversial sprout, she asked listeners to get in touch with their own views on the much-debated vegetable. “This morning I really want your help,” Carol Vorderman said. “I have got some answers in about spouts already and I’m not sure I like the answers.

“I am a sprout lover, love me, love my brassicas,” she declared. “So far we only have sprout haters.

“I do want your opinions on sprouts. Are you a fan of the beautiful brassica?”

However, the ex-Countdown presenter admitted her love of sprouts caused some problems in her relationships.

“It’s a deal-breaker with me in every relationship, mainly because I tend to eat them all year round,” she explained.

“Like puppies, sprouts are not just for Christmas in my house,” she continued, laughing: “I eat them about three times a week, so you can probably understand why it’s a deal-breaker.

“Anyway, I want your opinions on your sprouts, what are you going to do with them this Christmas?”

Carol has preciously been married twice, the first time to Royal Navy officer Christopher Matthews in 1985.

The pair were only married for a year before they split.

The curvaceous star later tied the knot with management consultant Patrick King in 1990.

With Patrick, she had two children, daughter Katie and son Cameron, before separating in 2000.

Carol previously spoke out about her love life, making a candid revelation about the man she dates.

During her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, she said she likes to have a “few occasionals” during the festive period.

“One of my boyfriends, I’d gone off him a bit, and I decided to dump him before Christmas,” she explained. “They always get dumped before Christmas anyway.

“Christmas time is party time,” she added. “I don’t think I should say any more. I prefer to have a few occasionals.”

This year, Carol has revealed she had her best ever first date, calling the outing “surreal”.

She has remained tight-lipped over the identity of the man, but said on Loose Women last week that he was not British and not famous.
