Prince Andrew unveils adorable throwback Christmas snap after Sarah Ferguson wedding pleas

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, is one of few members of the Royal Family who has an individual Twitter account. The account is run by staff, while the 58-year-old sometimes uses the platform to share his own tweets. Yesterday, an adorable capture was shared with the Duke’s 233,000 Twitter followers – which featured some members of the Royal Family. The adorable throwback snap starred a young Prince Andrew, who was just four years old at the time.

The family portrait also features the royal’s parents: Queen Elizabeth II, now 92, and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, now 97.

Prince Charles, Princess Anna, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex also appear in the picture – the latter of which is just a baby being cradled in his mother’s arms in the shot.

The black-and-white capture shows all the family gazing down at the youngest tot.

However, unlike his relatives, Prince Andrew is busy grinning at the camera.

The photograph was published back in 1964, as the Royal Family’s official Christmas Card snap.

The picture was captioned: “#TBT: Featuring a 4-year-old Duke of York, this photograph from the Royal Collection (@RCT) was used as the @RoyalFamily’s #ChristmasCard in 1964.”

Fans rushed to comment on the adorable capture, with one person writing: “How cute!!!! The star of the photo.”

Another swooned: “Delightful picture and what a lovely piece of history.”

“Wow just look at you all,” gushed a third. “Great picture.”

A fourth recalled the year that the snap was first released, reminiscing: “Gosh that takes me back, I remember it well!”

Earlier this week, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, took to Instagram, to show support for her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, in view of her 161,000 followers.

The pair wed in 1986, and share two children: Princess Beatrice, 30, and Princess Eugenie, 28.

They announced their separation in 1992, and were granted a divorce four years later – however the two royals still remain good friends.

After the 59-year-old’s very public kind words for her former husband, who had attended the Pitch at Palace Global 3.0 final that evening, fans rushed to the comments section – with many begging Fergie to rekindle their relationship.

“Please get married again,” begged one person.

Another pleaded: “I love how you and Andrew always support each other! You are such a beautiful family!! Sarah get your handsome man and remarry!”
