Kym Marsh: Coronation Street star reveals romantic letters from boyfriend Scott Ratcliff

Kym Marsh, 42, has been in a relationship with boyfriend Scott Ratcliff for seven months.

And the pair recently found themselves apart for the first time after the Coronation Street star’s beau, who is an Army Major, worked away.

But the couple ensured the distance didn’t affect them and stayed in touch by sending love letters and gifts to each other.

Speaking about the time apart, Scott told Express.co.uk at The Sun Military Awards: “We wrote each other letters every week which we would open every Friday, because that’s when we would normally see each other.

“So we had a letter each week and then Kym sent me away with a couple of gifts and I had a gift arrive for Kym as well.”

Kym admitted it was “hard” spending the time apart with minimum communication.

“It’s hard, but you support each other throughout,” she spilled.

“It’s a shared experience, I’m the one at home watching Coronation Street eating chocolate.”

Kym added: “Scott’s the one that’s out there doing stuff that potentially might put him in danger and sleeping on the ground, so actually I have the easier part but he would say I don’t.”

Meanwhile, Kym recently shared some very exciting news as she announced her daughter, Emillie, 21, will be having a baby boy next year.

The Coronation Street star hosted a gender reveal party for Emillie and her boyfriend of six months earlier this month.

Kym uploaded a picture of the happy couple hugging on Twitter and captioned the sweet image: “IT’S A BOY!!!”

The actress previously said she was excited to become a grandmother, but admitted she was unsure about being called a “grandma”.

“I’ve always looked forward to having grandchildren,” she told OK! Magazine.

Kym continued: “I’m not sure about being called grandma.”

“I’ve been researching alternative names. I like “Lolli’, then Emilie’s dad could be ‘Pop’ and we’d be ‘Lollipop’, which I think is sweet. I like ‘GG’ too.”

Kym, who fell pregnant with her first child at the age of 18, said her daughter would make a fantastic mother, although she admitted it can be “scary” being a young mum.

She said: “I know what it’s like to be young and pregnant, it’s scary but I also know Emillie is going to be a great mum.

“Being a young mum seems to be a pattern in my family, my mum was 18 when she had my brother, my sister was 18 when she fell pregnant and so was I.”

Coronation Street airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm.
