Galaxy S10 could borrow a HUGE camera feature from the Huawei P20 Pro

Galaxy S10 is set to succeed the Galaxy S9 and is presumed to arrive at Mobile World Congress (MWC), a technology show taking place in February.

The hardware has been heavily rumoured to introduce a number of substantial innovations both aesthetically and internally to the product line.

It has been claimed at least three versions of the Galaxy S10 will be available at launch.

The first two are expected to be standard and “+” variants fans have become accustomed to in recent years while the third could be a cheaper model that forgoes some premium features in exchange for a lower price tag overall.

The most notable difference between the more affordable version of the S10 and others was claimed by Bloomberg to be regarding the device’s display.

The cheaper variant was said to feature a flat screen rather than one boasting Samsung’s signature curves on the side.

In addition to housing turbocharged internals, the Galaxy S10 has also been rumoured to bring a wide-range of upgrades in the camera department.

The Wall Street Journal recently stated at least one version of the Galaxy S10 will have a whopping total of six cameras.

It has been speculated some Galaxy S10 models could tout a standard camera sensor that is joined by telephoto and wide-angle systems.

In addition to packing new camera hardware, it appears Samsung is also intent on radically challenging other smartphone camera offerings such as the P20 Pro thanks to fresh software, too.

XDA Developers recently analysed code in the latest One UI beta for Samsung devices and spotted references to a “bright night” mode.

Code suggests the feature will be incredibly similar to the night mode already offered on the P20 Pro by brightening up photos taken in low-light conditions.

It seems Samsung’s software will take multiple photos, presumably at different exposures, and then intelligently combine them to produce a clear shot.

Some strings of code from the newest One UI beta read: “Brighten up this shot with Bright night.

“Take multiple shots and combine them to get brighter, clearer pictures in low light without using the flash.”

The Huawei P20 Pro debuted back in March and was the first device to feature a dedicated night mode.

Since its debut, other manufacturers such as Google, Honor and Xiaomi have also granted users similar functionality.

It is worth noting the mentioning of the feature in beta code does not necessarily mean it will debut on the Galaxy S10.

And the functionality’s existence has not been confirmed by Samsung.

However, with MCW mere months away, it will not be long before fans of the South Korean tech giant will find out if the S10 touts a camera night mode.
