Atlas Game release time UPDATE: Studio Wildcard posts MAJOR release date news on Twitter

Studio Wildcard’s new game Atlas is finally about to release on Steam Early Access.

After a last-minute delay earlier this week, Studio Wildcard has confirmed plans to launch the game on December 21.

And now that the Atlas release date is here. fans are wondering exactly what time the game will launch.

In a new post on Twitter, Studio Wildcard gave a new update on the Atlas release time.

“ATLAS is launching on Friday the 21st of December 2018,” reads a Studio Wildcard tweet.”When we have a precise time window, we’ll let you know.

“Sorry for the wait guys, we know you’re excited to get in, and we’re just as happy to have you play asap, we appreciate your patience throughout. Thank you!”

In a series of follow-up tweets, the Ark Survival Evolved developer said that Early Access invites were rolling out to content creators.

“As we work our way towards launch, we’ll be sending out staggered invites to content creators via @ReverbGames which will allow us to monitor the effects on our server nodes,” the first post reads.

“The invites will continue to go out over the night and tomorrow as we get closer to launch and when we’re satisfied, and assuming all our other ducks are in order we’ll be officially releasing the title onto Steam Early Access.”

If you’re a content creator and want to apply for early access, Studio Wildcard recommends contacting Reverb Games (see the tweet below for contact details).

Content creators will have access to a special server, and their progress will be wiped when the game launches in full.

Atlas is described as “one of the most ambitious online worlds of all time”.

Studio Wildcard says that Atlas will host up to 40,000 players exploring the same Globe simultaneously.

The game will initially revolve around ship-building and pirate warfare, although new elements are expected to be added over time.

“Start small then expand your spheres of influence from a small island, up to an unstoppable pirate empire that spans across the oceans,” reads the official description.

“Wage battle against enemy fleets as you singlehandedly command large ships of war using the captaining system (or divide up to the responsibilities among your trusted lieutenants), or take control of any weapon directly with your own character.

“Dive deep into the briny water to explore permanent sunken wrecks and recover salvage, unearth the loot from procedurally-generated Treasure Maps and challenge zones, or complete challenging main questlines.”
