How to take a screenshot on a Windows PC

Taking a screenshot on your device might seem a bit more finicky when compared to Mac OS but these two steps will help you.

Look down at your keyboard and locate and tap the Function (Fn) and PrintScreen (PrtScr) buttons at the same time.

Windows will take a grab of your screen and save it to the clipboard.

Alternatively, you can hold down Alt and PrtScr to take a screenshot of just your active window.

Windows should save the screenshot to the OneDrive Pictures folder, under Screenshots.

You can also open up an image process like Microsoft Paint and hit Ctrl and V to paste the screenshot into the program.

This will let you edit the photo and save it to whatever location you want.

Another method involves using the built-in Snipping Tool.

The Snipping Tool, which you can find under your installed Windows apps, will let you select which part of the screen you want to grab.

Open the program, select one of the snipping modes available and grab your screenshot.

The Snipping Tool will then let you draw over the screen grab with a highlighter or pen before it asks you to save it to wherever you want.

How to take a screenshot on iOS

Before the introduction of the bezel-less iPhone X, snapping a screenshot involved pressing down on the Power Button and Home Button at once.

The phone would then save whatever was on your screen to the Photos App.

But the iPhone X and later generations of Apple’s flagship device no longer sport a Home Button and fans might be wondering what the new shortcut is.

To take a screenshot on an iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XR, you need to press down on the Side Button/Sleep Button and the Volume Up button at the same time.

After you snap your screenshot, a little thumbnail of your photo will appear in the bottom-left corner.
