The story of this iteration of Spider-Man follows a Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales who is bitten by a radioactive spider in the subway. The official synopsis reads: “Miles suddenly develops mysterious powers that transform him into the one and only Spider-Man. “When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realizes that there are many others who share his special, high-flying talents. “Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world.

As of right now, there is no way to watch Spider-Man online, and any site purporting to have it is illegal, so tread carefully.

The estimated release date for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on DVD and Blu-ray is March 2019.

The Digital HD download from Amazon Video and iTunes is also estimated for March 2019.

From that point, it may take another three to six months for the movie to wind up on a streaming site.

Which site the movie ends up on, whether it be Netflix, Now TV, or Amazon Prime, remains to be seen.

Though Spider-Man is a Marvel character, Marvel and Sony have a joint agreement as to the production of Spider-Man movies.

In the aftermath of November 2014’s hacking of Sony’s computers, emails between Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal and president Doug Belgrad were released.

These emails revealed Sony was planning to rejuvenate the Spider-Man franchise by developing an animated comedy.

By August 2018, the total number of Animators on the Sony vehicle was 142.

As such, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse featured the largest animation crew that Sony Pictures Imageworks had ever used for a film.

As for watching it online, Into the Spider-Verse should be viewed in 3D, according to the movie’s directors themselves.

During a conversation with Collider, the directors Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman said audiences “need” to see it in 3D due to the immersive nature of the animated world created.

Spider-Verse’s producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller wanted the movie to feel as if the audience walked inside a comic book.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse currently holds a 97 per cent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

With such a high score and fan fervour, it is unsurprising many are looking to stream the film online.
