Manchester United appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: LEAKED video exposed in website blunder

United sacked Jose Mourinho on Tuesday morning and moved swiftly to bring Solskjaer in.

Express Sport has noticed that videos regarding United legend Solskjaer have been posted on the club’s official website.

United appear to be preparing for an announcement of their new boss after sacking Mourinho.

And it looks as though someone on the site made a publishing error when loading the videos.

As our screen grab shows, what appears to be a video collection of Solskjaer’s best bits as a United player is on the ManUtd.com system.

The headline for the video reads: ‘The most famous night of Ole’s career: Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou’.

The URL has now become inactive – but will almost certainly be activated when Solskjaer is announced on Wednesday.

Solskjaer scored the winner in the 1999 Champions League final as beat Bayern Munich to claim European football’s greatest prize.

The Norwegian finished his playing career at United in 2007 and because a reserve-team coach.

He joined Molde in 2011 and managed them for three years before an ill-fated stint at Cardiff.

Solskjaer has been back at Molde since 2015 and is understood to have agreed to leave the Norwegian side for a stint at Old Trafford.

Whether or not United will keep Solskjaer past the summer remains to be seen.

The club are keen not to make another mistake in appointing a new manager, having already gone through three permanent bosses since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

Solskjaer could manage the Red Devils until the end of the season and then head back to Molde.

United would then move for one of their top managerial targets, with Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino their main man.

Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte and Laurent Blanc are all currently out of work.

And United would likely have to pay a fortune to prise Pochettino out of his Tottenham contract.

As it happens, Solskjaer’s first game as United manager may well be against the club he used to coach.

The Red Devils play Cardiff on Saturday in their last game before Christmas.

Solskjaer endured a miserable time at the Bluebirds, where he failed to stave off relegation from the Premier League in 2014.

His Molde side finished second in the Norwegian top flight this year and the 2019 campaign does not start until March 31.
