Red Dead 2 is a peerless open-world action-adventure where only the toughest survive. Weapons are key to completing the estimated 65 hours of merciless single player gameplay. But because players increasingly want to know whether it is possible to drop obsolete elements of your arsenal in favour of upgrades.

Red Dead Redemption 2 weapon drops:

Weapon drops have become a standard game mechanic in many RPGs, such as Resident Evil 6 and Fallout.

They are not, however, available in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Players can swap them for other guns on the ground but they will always be available from your horse.

This makes it impossible to ever permanently get rid of or sell guns.

The issue of an ever-increasing number of guns carried by RDR2’s protagonist Arthur Morgan is one of the game’s very few negatives.

Many complain this issue is one of the few unrealistic touches in an otherwise perfect RPG.

The lack of a weapon drop resulting in having to scroll through scores of weapons to select your first choice during a shoot-out.

And this has lead many to request for an online update to add a drop option.
