Galaxy S9 and Note 9 Android 9 Pie – Samsung releases new update ahead of official release

fans appear to be getting one step closer to getting Google’s latest Android 9 Pie software on their devices.

Although no official release date has been set, the Korean technology giant is expected to push out this blockbuster update to users in the coming months.

However, some recent news may give fans hope that Android 9 Pie is coming very soon.

Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users, who have signed up to Samsung’s beta programme, have just been sent a fresh update with a swathe of bugs being fixed in the upgrade.

These patches include mending alarms that don’t work, the dialer freezing and apps that crash unexpectedly.

Samsung pushed out its latest beta to the Galaxy S9 last week and it has now also given Note 9 users the option to upgrade.

With so many issues being fixed in this update it could suggest an official Android 9 Pie release is coming very soon.

When it does finally launch it seems Samsung fans will be in for a treat with a new skin, called One UI, that will run on top of Android 9 Pie

This presents a number of new features and a massive aesthetic change for devices.

Samsung has emphasised the new software has been designed from the ground up to make navigation on larger devices, such as the Note 9, easier with one hand.

Discussing One UI, Samsung said: “One UI helps you focus on what really matters to you.

“With hardware and software working together in harmony, see only what you need, using and viewing your phone with an experience that feels second nature.

“Because it’s the small details that make a big difference.”

One UI also brings Samsung fans new icons that boast striking colours and a new dark mode to look forward to.
