LeBron James: Lakers told to do THIS to sign Anthony Davis ahead of Boston Celtics

The New Orleans Pelicans star is set to leave the franchise sooner rather than later, as he looks to improve his chances of winning an NBA championship ring.

And the Lakers have long been tipped to make a move for the star in order to pair him up with LeBron James.

However, the Celtics are also interested in Davis as they look to make a run for the NBA Finals.

The Lakers have reportedly been exploring the idea of making a three-man trade involving their young stars.

Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could all move to make space for Davis

And Adrian Wojnarowski, ESPN NBA insider, explained that the Pelicans will need to offer up some serious money in order to get him to stay.

Speaking to ESPN on Wednesday night, he explained that the Celtics and Lakers could very well go toe-to-toe with one another to secure the forward’s signature.

“The two teams who are laying in wait on Anthony Davis are Boston and Los Angeles (Lakers)” he said.

“They’re both teams that know that they would have a great chance to sign him.

“Nobody is going to give up a tonne of space to sign him.

“But with Boston, they’ve got multiple first round picks, great young players, potentially expiring players.

“They can give New Orleans a package that would help them rebuild and regroup.”

Wojnarowski also explained that the main reason for the Lakers making a trade for Davis is to team him up with James.

“Then with the Lakers, especially if they miss out on a big free agent, you’re going to see them gather all their pieces together,” he said.

“Then they will really go after Anthony Davis, because that will be their way of pairing up LeBron James with another star.”
